about

we believe

the Bible
The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts and is our guide for daily living. The Bible is the final authority and arbitrator of determining doctrinal truth.
Read 2 Peter 1:21; Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Timothy 3:16

Trinity
There is one God, who created all things and who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three persons of the Godhead are co-equal, co-eternal, perfectly aligned and have always existed.
Read Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; 1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11

Jesus
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, and that He was born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life, that He died on the cross for our sins, rose on the third day, eventually ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again to reign in power and glory.
Read Hebrews 1:1-4; 1 John 1:29; 1 John 5:20; Matthew 1:20; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; John 1:1-3

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and that He lives inside each believer, empowering us for daily living.
Read 2 Corinthians 13:14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13

sin
People are created by God in his image, but we have separated ourselves from God through sin and need His saving grace.
Read Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 2:5; 5:12-21

salvation
The forgiveness of sins is only available through the person and shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is the free gift of God’s grace and cannot be earned in any way. We receive God’s grace by putting faith in Christ – making Him Lord of our lives, repenting of our sin, confessing our faith in Jesus as God, and being baptized, immersed, into Christ.
Read Matthew 26:28; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Romans 5:9; Romans 6:1-11; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 11:3; 1 Peter 1:18-19

the church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, and that God has called believers to gather together in local church families.
Read Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 5:24-30; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12

eternal destiny
We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. Those who are forgiven will spend eternity with God; those not forgiven will be eternally separated from God.
Read Hebrews 9:27

second coming
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again in power and glory, at a time that is not disclosed in the Scriptures, and that we need to be ready for His return.
Read Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; John 14:1-3; Philippians 2:9-11; Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7

greatest commandment
We believe that we are commanded to love God with all our might and our entire being, and that we demonstrate that love for Him by loving our neighbors as ourselves.  Simply put, Love God and Love others.
Read Matthew 22:37-40; John 4:19-21; Mark 12:28-33; Romans 5:8; James 2:8; Matthew 7:12; Galatians 6:10

marriage
We believe in the Biblical definition of marriage and that it is a sacred and holy covenant between one man and one woman in an exclusive union. That marriage is instituted by God and publicly entered into before God.
Read Matthew 19:4-6, Genesis 2:18-25

gender
We believe that God wonderfully creates each person as either male or female as part of His design and plan. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
Read Genesis 1:26-27; Mark 10:6

They have devoted their life to full-time ministry, beginning in 1977.  “I never cease to be amazed at the different ways God has used us, and the incredible number of people that we’ve been able to serve.”  We’ve been blessed by what has become a really healthy ‘vibe’ at MCC. We’re all just real people, trying to live real life with a real faith in God… together.
